Jon Pyzel & Jun Shiiba
本日のノース、風がノースウエスト、つまりストレートオンショアに振り、
更にジャンクコンディション、、、あの年末年始の悪夢が甦って来た〜
昨日のマー君パ〜チ〜でややハングオーバー、デスクワークオールデイ、
車も息子が使い、お家にスタック状態、、、
夕方、ルームメイトのジュン君がワイルアのパイゼルファクトリーに行くので、
海をチェケラ〜がてら同行した。
パイゼルさんは言わずと知れた、あのジョンジョンのシェーパー。
この２〜３年のジョンジョンの活躍とともに、一気にビジーシェーパーとなった。
またパイゼルのオフィスには、”ザグレートセイリングカヌーアドベンチャー”
と題された絵本があり、よく見るとストーリーはジョンパイゼルと記されていた。
パイゼルさんのシェーパーとはまた違った側面を知る事となった。

Got a hangover by yesterday’s party and my son is using my car so got
stuck in the house all day…
Jun was going to the Pyzel Facotry in Waialua so
I went along with him to check the ocean.
Mr. Pyzel is that famous shaper who shapes John John’s board.
John John got really famous in this last couple years so he became one busy shaper now these days.
And there was this book names ” The Great Sailing Canoe Adventure” and
it seems like the story is made by Mr. Pyzel.
Never knew that he was doing this kind of stuff.

ひょんな事から、今冬は車を持ち、俺んちにステイする事になったジュン君。
おっとりとした性格ながら、日本屈指のコンペティターとして君臨し、
毎冬のノースショア詣でも欠かさない、努力家サーファーの一人だ。
いつもは人ごみを避け、オフザに身を置いているのが常だったが、
今冬はパイプのノースピークにも現れ、素晴らしいチャージを見せてくれた。
そして今までなら足無しだったのでハレイワに行く事も出来なかったが、
今冬は足繁くハレイワに通う事が多くなり、大好きなスポットの一つとなった様だ。
冬のノースは毎回新しい発見があり、自身のサーフィンを見直される場所だと言う。
これから年を取って行っても通い続けられる環境を作って行きたいとも語ってくれた。
Jun Shiiba got his car ready so he started to stay at my house for this winter.
His personality is so mild and easy going but he’s one of the best Japanese competitor so
he always visits North Shore every winter.
He usually goes to the Off The Wall side to avoid the crowd but
he showed up in Pipe’s north peak and showed us a wonderful charge.
Also, he usually didn’t have a car but he has one now so
he started to go to Haleiwa a lot and it looks like he’s loving that place too.
Jun said “You’ll discover new thing s in North Shore every time you come and
you can think back about your self.”
He was also saying that he would like to make an environment to visit North Shore many times
even though he will get old.

試合中のものではないが、まさに１０ポイントライドとも言えるシークエンス。
レインボウスピッツにパーフェクトタイミングで吐き出され、
そのまま完璧なエアリバを決めていくジョンジョン。
彼が近い将来ワールドチャンピオンになるのは間違いないだろう。
This sequences isn’t from the competition but this is one 10 pointer.
Got out from the spits in a perfect timing and
made a perfect air reverse.
I could tell he’s gonna be the World Champion in a moment.
2015 Volcom Pipe Pro Winner John John Florence
その証しとして、第２のパイプマスターズと言われる、
ヴォルコムパイププロでも見事な優勝を遂げ、
幸先よい２０１５年のスタートを切ったジョンジョン。
今年の１２月には、世界チャンピオンになったジョンジョンの姿を見れるかもしれない。
As a proof, he won the Volcom Pipe Pro and
made a good head start in 2015.
We might see him being a World Champion in this December.
