今日は更にサイズダウンして、頭ちょい〜
ランド撮影ばっかだったので、今日はサウスアフリカ初入水〜
３ミリラバーのフルスーツを着込んでアウトゼア〜〜
Size went down again to head range~~
I was shooting from the land till today so went inside the water~~
Got out there with my 3mm rubber made full suit~~

水は思ったよりも冷たくなく、風もなかったので、気持ち良い水中撮影となった。
セットも少なく、スーパーチューブの端っこで、ポワ〜ンとブギにまたがって、
ジェフリーズのエアー／ウォーターを感じていた。
Water temprature wasn’t that cold than I’ve thought and not much wind so
this was good water session.
Not much sets coming in so just floated on my board and
felt the Jeffreys’s air & water.

ジェフリーズは波が長いので、正直あまり水中撮影には適さない。
しかしやはり水中目線／パドルアイはサーファーズフィーリングをかきたてるってもんだ。
Jeffreys’s waves lasts long so it’s not a perfect wave to shoot in the water.
But this view from the water makes surfer’s morale much higher.

セッション後半に来て、ようやくセットが入る様になり、モードが変わった。
ヒロトはこのドセットを沖でとらえ、３発カービング／リップを織り交ぜながら、
スーパーのトップチューブをメイクしてきた〜
今日のまったりコンディションの中とすれば珠玉の一本と言えよう。
Sets started to come in from the second half of the session.
Hiroto got this huge set from the outside and made a triple curve & lip and
made through the super tube~~
Absolutely one of the best shot today.
Maxime Huscenot
レユニオンのサンジレ出身のマキシムだが、現在はフランスのハセゴに住んでいる。
地元レユニオンを代表するレフティ／サンルーはシャークアタックが相次ぎ、
現在サーフィン禁止区域となっているという。
Maxime is from Reunion but lives in Hossegor in France.
But the point that represents the Reunion got a lot of shark attacks so
it is a prohibitted surfing area.

今日はトロ〜ンとしたコンディションで、午後まで風が入らないコンディションが続いたが、
早目の２ラウンド目に突入すると、急に右斜め方向から南寄りのサイドオンショアが吹き出した。
Wind did’t come in till afternoon but
southerly onshore started to blow from the 2nd round.

スーパーまで歩いて一分のとこにステイしているので、こまめなチェックができ、
良い時間帯、混んでない時間帯をうまく活用することができるってもんだ。
We live near the point so
we can choose the timing when it’s not crowded.

ヒロトにとって今回のサウスアフリカトリップの目的は、当然プライムイベントへの参戦だ。
今の所メインヒートには入っていないが、６／２８に行われるトライアルには出場でき、
その後もオートネとして待つ事になる。
Hiroto’s mission for this trip is to surf on the Prime Event.
He’s still not in the main heat but he could surf on the trial starting from June 28th.
Still in the waiting list.

今日は唯一人３ラウンドをこなしたレオ。
ラストセッションはジャーフルで入ったが、やっぱ寒かったという。
一日の中に四季があり、今日なんかは真昼は短パンでビーチにいれるくらいの陽気だった。
Reo surfed for 3 rounds today.
I guess it was damn cold in the last session.
There’s 4 season in one day so we could stay with a pants during the day time.

シャープなカッティーがスタイルのリカルド。
一日２ラウンド、ルカのビデオ撮影のためジェイベイにショーアアップしてくる。
Ricardo has a sharp cutting style.
He shows up 2 rounds a day for his shooting session.
Jay Davies
同じくルカチームのジェイも、いつも一緒にリカルドとセッションを続けている。
このメンツがそのままバリト／プライム戦に流れて行くのだ。
Jay also surfs along with Ricardo.
And these members goes to the Prime Event in Ballito.
Bianca Buitendag
サウスアフリカの南の果ての小さな村で生まれ育ったと言うビアンカ。
WCTでは素晴らしい結果を残して来ている。
Bianca who grew up in this small village in the southern part of South Africa.
She’s making one good effort at the WCT.
Maxime Huscenot
スーパーから望むボーンヤーズでは、またまたマキシムがサーフしているのが見えた。
波が続くと当たり前の様に思うかもしれないが、ジェイベイもフラットになることもある。
それを思えば、今回は良いサイクルで波／天気が続いてくれている。
Saw Maxime still surfing from the market.
Of course J-Bay gets flat some times.
That mean we’re surfing in a good cycle & weather till now.
